Acrylic on Canvas
Painted in the Beaches, Toronto, at the foot of Leuty Avenue.
This painting is interesting in a few ways. I painted it sitting on the lake side of the Leuty Life station. Most paintings of this structure are painted from the Boardwalk but when you stand on the other side you get a completely different aspect and view. You also get more of a light effect.
I focus a lot on light effects as in this piece you can clearly see the differences in the quality of and temperature of the light on the shaded and lit areas of the structure, giving the strong effect of a bright and sunny day.
